Question: Will you turn me? I am the single most worthy individual you will find, I guarantee it.
There are thousands of variations of this question and this is the single most commonly asked question we get. Apparently people can't read, because we have posted on this site numerous times not to do so. The answer is no, obviously. And this is for many reasons. This is the short answer, and the reasons we say no can get very long, very quickly. I'm not interested in listing them all here as it would be a very time consuming process. In summary, no we will not turn you, and don't email us about it.

Question: Will you tell me the location of Vampyres where I live, or where you live?
No. We are not at liberty to divulge that kind of information. Its not like there is a Vampyre phone book or anything, so how would we know the locations of Vampyres where some one else lives? And if we were to share that information should we have it, we would be endangering the safety of those Vampyres. If you want to meet a Vampyre, you have to find them. If you want more information about how to do so, read the article Finding Other Vampyres. Don't email us about this either.

Question: How often do Vampires have to feed?
Well, how often Vampires have to feed depends on what rank and power level they are. The more powerful the Vampire is, the less they have to feed.

Question: Can Vampires drink animal blood, like from a butcher?
I'll answer that in two parts. First of all, why would any Vampire want to drink dead blood? Secondly, animal blood, especially pig's blood is dirty. And not just because they are animals, but because demons can easily possess animals. If you drink the blood of an animal that has been possessed that demon may then also possess you. Cooked animal blood (like from a steak) is ok because the heating process makes the demon uncomfortable and causes it to leave. Demons don't like heat, in fact they hate it. In any event, Vampires prefer human blood, in fact to most the suggestion of drinking animal blood is disgusting.

Question: Would a Vampire embrace/turn a stranger?
Most likely not. Turning some one is a large responsibility, and not one to be taken lightly. When you turn (or Sire) some one you take on the responsibility of teaching, protecting and providing for the Vampire you have created, much like taking care of a small child. In most respects the new Vampire is a child. So you could understand why a Vampire would not choose to embrace some one they are unfamiliar with. Only the worthy are embraced.

Question: Why should the Vampire fear, or hide from humans rather than rule them?
Vampires don't hide out of fear, we hide because the humans vastly out number us. Image what would happen if we revealed ourselves to them. The Salem witch trials are a good example. A few Vampires can't fight off hundreds of humans. Vampires could rule but we would not hold the rule for long. There are too many weakness in vampires that can be exploited by others.

Question: If a Vampire donates blood will the receiver of the blood become a Vampire?
No. The part of the blood where the elements of Vampirism reside are filtered out when the blood is tested, screened and prepared for storage or to be given to a patient.

Question: Is it true that Vampires can enter people's dreams?
Yes. These Vampires are called Astral Vampires and they feed off the energy produced by dreams. People can also enter dreams with the proper training and guidance.

Question: If a Vampire drinks the blood of a drunk, does s/he get drunk as well?
No. A Vampire does not ingest enough blood during feeding to get drunk off of the alcohol content of blood of the donor.

Question: Doesn't this site violate the Masquerade or are you figuring that most people will assume this is all just fiction?
No this site doesn't violate the Masquerade for one simple reason: we are not revealing our real identities. We are providing knowledge for other Vampires who have no one to turn to and for the curious that seek the truth. Just because people know we exist doesn't mean they know how to find us. And even though we do provide advice on how to do that, its useful for the most part only for other Vampires.

Question: Vampire or Vampyre? Which is the correct spelling?
Both spellings are accepted, but technically the spelling Vampyre is the correct one. Contrary to many of the Vampyres out there, the spelling with the y is not new age. The spelling with the y is the older spelling, and is used to differentiate between the True Vampyres and the Lifestylers. The more common word vampire has many myths and Hollywood trimmings attached to it that the True Vampyres are trying to escape through the use of the spelling Vampyre. I once got into an argument with another Vampyre about this. She insisted I was wrong because the only spelling for Vampyre in the dictionary is the one with the i. This is true, if you are using the online dictionary because they do not contain all the words, they are the abridged version to save space on their servers. You have to use the Oxford English dictionary, the unabridged version. You can find a copy at your local library. It will list both versions of the spelling as well as the dates they were introduced into the English language. Wow, that answer got long fast didn't it? Moving on...

Question: How do I tell what rank of Vampire I am?
Well obviously if you were a mortal previously and now have a Sire you are a Turned. If you were born a Vampire and awakened, you are a Pureblood or a Royal. Royals are very rare. Purebloods are much more common. So if you are an awakened Vampire, chances are you are a Pure. Don't bother us with questions of rank. Just as in questions of whether or not some one is a Vampire, we cannot tell you unless we meet you.

Question: Can some one who practices Wicca be a Vampyre?
I would have to say no as the religion of Wicca goes directly against the nature of the Vampire. If you are practicing Wicca and begin experiencing the awakening you will have to choose between Wicca and the Vampyre side of yourself. Just a little word of advice: you cannot successfully fight what you are for very long. Eventually the Vampyre side will win. Don't let it come to that. Be responsible.

Question: As a Vampyre parent with biological Vampyre children, when should I tell my children that they are Vampyres?
This is ultimately up to the parent. When you feel your biological children are old enough to understand and accept what you tell them as fact is the time to tell them. This is a judgment call you as a parent have to make, no one can make it for you. However, I do recommend that you teach your children that Vampyres are real, and what we really are, before you reveal their true nature to them.

Question: If two Vampyres have a biological child will that child be a Vampyre as well?
If two Vampyres give birth to a child then the child is also a Vampire. Two Vampyres cannot give birth to a human child. If the two Vampyres are awakened then their child will be awakened from birth. If the two Vampyres are Latent (or unawakened) then the child will be born unawakened and have until the end of puberty to go through the awakening. If the child doesn't go through the awakening by then they cannot awaken after that period, even if they drink blood. They will live out the rest of their life as a latent and there is nothing that can be done to change that.

Question: How much of the population are latent Vampyres?
Approximately 25% of the world population are latent Vampyres. Of this 25% only a very small portion will actually go through the awakening process and fully become true Vampyres.

Question: Do Vampyres have retracible fangs?
No, that is no longer true of the Vampyres of today. Our ancestors once had this ability, but like many other abilities we no longer possess it because our bloodlines have thinned so greatly.

Question: Can swapping bodily fluids with a Vampyre turn me into a Vampyre?
No. The elements needed to turn humans/mortals into Vampyres are only contained in blood and not any of the other bodily fluids such as spit, semen, etc.

Questions: Do all vampires have sharp fangs? Do fangs grow in when they awaken?
No we have pretty normal looking fangs. Sharpness varies between Vampyres. We don't grow fangs when we awaken or when humans are Turned. What we're born with is what we've got.

Question: Are there any dangers to myself (as a Psi Vampyre) while feeding?
Depending on who you feed from, you may get more than you bargained for. Most psys are likely to give you a bit of a psychic slap (if you're lucky that's all they'll do) if you don't have their permission to take energy from them. And there are some that will not tolerate it at all. Be sure you know who you're feeding from. You may also end up taking in unpleasant energy if the person you're feeding from is physically ill or emotionally unstable. This can result in you feeling their discomfort, or the contamination of your own energy. You can manipulate your shields to filter out this energy if you wish. You may also overload from too much energy, causing jumpiness, upset stomach, or headaches. Don't feed from demons, dark energy, unfamiliar spirits, and things of this nature. Their energy is different and must be converted for you to use. If you don't you could end up in a heap of trouble. This is especially true if you are draining energy from something that is attacking you. Make it a policy to drain their energy and use it against them, make it into balls, lightning bolts, etc. DON'T take it into yourself.

Questions: What can I do if I take in too much energy?
You will need to redirect the excess energy. One relatively easy way to do this is to ground. If you'd like to save the excess energy for a later time when you need it, you can channel the energy into a crystal, stone, or a large piece of metal.

Question: Ok so how do I ground?
Being in a meditative state helps, but is not required. Sit with your feet flat on the floor. This also isn't necessary, but it does help with the visualization until you become familiar with this. Image roots growing out from the soles of your feet. You could imaging beams of light, vines, steel rods, whatever works best for you. Imagine those roots digging into the ground. Next imagine the excess energy flowing down through your body, down through the roots, and into the ground. Continue doing this until you feel your energy levels reach a comfortable level. Then imagine your roots retracting out of the ground.

Question: What is a tendril?
A tendril is an extension of the aura that is used to reach out and latch on to another person's aura. Some use tendrils for feeding and for scanning.

Question: Do Vampyres have a written or spoken language?
No. Vampyres do tend to use older or dead languages though.

Question: Can humans be turned in Vampyres?
Yes! (As if this fact wasn't already obvious given our many articles in which its mentioned.) Not many know how to do it but it can indeed be done. (And yes we do know how to.)

Question: Will you tell me how to turn some one?
Boy, do we get asked this a lot. Pure and simple, No. For an explanation why, refer to the last paragraph of the article 'Responsibilities of the Sire'.

Question: When exactly is the end of puberty?
Please keep in mind that it is different for everyone. Generally speaking however most males do not even complete growth until their 21st year; most women do not until their 23rd. Additionally, allergies commonly do not show up until this time as well.

Questions: When finding other Vampyres, how should you go about asking them if they are or not? If you do find a true Vampyre how would you ask them if they would be a mentor, without making them mad?
Well hopefully the Vampyre that you choose to approach will also recognize that you are a Vampyre. You will want to pull them aside and talk to them in private if at all possible. I would tell them that you believe them to be a Vampyre and if they would so kind, would they answer some of your questions? (The reason for this is to determine how knowledgeable they are. So you will want to ask them questions you know the answers to, but not simple ones, advanced knowledge if you possess it. It won't do you any good to have a mentor that doesn't know anymore then you.) Once you have determined that they are indeed more knowledgeable then you, ask them if they would be interested in being your mentor. If not respect their wishes.

Question: Do Vampyres drink the blood of other Vampyres?
Certainly. Vampyres that do feed from other Vampyres find Vampyre blood far more fulfilling than mortal blood because it contains much more energy than mortal blood does.

Question: Are there any other Vampiric gods beside, Lilith, Lamia, Mormo, Empusa?
Vampyres don't have gods or goddesses, Vampyrism isn't a religion, a lifestyle, or a game, but a way of life.

Question: Are slayers chosen at birth, or do they get turned to into one later?
Slayers are raised as such, it's a family thing passed down from generation to generation. Occasionally they will recruit others outside of their family if they find individuals that possess the skills to make them a good slayer.

Question: Can a Vampyre increase their power by feeding from another Vampyre?
Only if the Vampyre that you feed from is stronger than yourself. And the effects are limited. Your power will only increase 10% with repeated feedings from the stronger Vampyre.

Question: If a Vampyre is pregnant, how does feeding effect the unborn child?
There really is no effect, the placenta filters out the blood that is ingested.

Question: So what is the deal with the Vampyre Council? Does it exist? And if so, why are there so many sites out there that say it doesn't?
Yes there is a Vampyre Council. There is only one. Those "vampire coucils" that you find on the net are not and have nothing to do with the actual Council. The actual Council and it's members opperate in secrecy for many reasons. First and foremost being the Council is not a democracy. Though it's members can vote on things there is a head that calls the altimate shots on everything. Secondly, since its not a democracy, your average, uneducated Vampyre has no reason to know about it and the ongoings of the Council do not effect them.

Question: What is the law of three?
The law of three is part of the Wiccan religion that states something to the effect of "Whatever you do will come back to you three-fold, be it good or bad." So why am I bothering with a Wiccan related question on a site about Vampyres? Simply because you do not have to believe in Wicca or even the law of three to be effected by it. I am not, nor have I ever studied Wicca but I have seen the effects of the law of three. What you do does come back you. Keep this in mind.

Question: Can only female Vampyres hold leadership roles?
No males can and do hold leadership roles.

Question: I have seen on the web mention of abilities of psi-vampyres such as 'blinking' and 'teleportation'. Are they in fact possible or are these people just smoking crack?
Honestly, I hope they are smoking crack. If anyone seriously believes that they can do these things they are deliousional. Physics dictates that teleportation and blinking are impossible. This quote that was emailed to me "Sometimes when threatened the world seems to slow down, I see a punch in a kind of slow motion..." is purely and example of Vampyric reflexs and nothing more. It is not an example of blinking.

Question: How do you get your Vampyre side to surface?
While there is no straight and simple solution to this problem there are a few things I can recommend. Because everyone is different there is no one way to go about it. It was once described as thinking of a small candle flame and then building that flame to surround your entire body. This will not work for everyone. Substances such as drugs and alcohol will free your mind, loosen your fear, remove your mental mind blocks you have put in place. With your mind open and free your Vampyre side will surface on its own. While it does take practice it is possible. If you go through with these suggestions BE RESPOSIBLE ADULTS. WHILE THESE ARE SUGGESTIONS WE DO NOT ENCOURAGE OR ENDORSE ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES OR THE USE OF ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES.

Question: Lately I've heard a lot of talk about crossbreeds, like were/vamp, werepanthers, weredragons, etc. Are these sorts of combinations possible? Also, what of fae, demons, angels, elves, etc? Do they actually exist?
Werewolf/Vampyre crossbreeds are in fact possible but very, very, very rare. They are not nearly as common as people on chat boards would have you believe. The simple reason for this is that Vampyres and Werewolves didn't really get along. It was only recently that we came to an understand with each other. Most of the people that you will see online claiming such things are usually confusing Vampyre abilities or animalistic instints with that of Werewolves and other things that they really know little about. Werepanthers however are something else. Their existance is questionable, there are legends about them and there is a high possiblity that they do exist but I have never met one. Humans that believe they are dragons, changlings (aka shapeshifters), griffins, gargoyles or fae are living in fantasy land and need to stop taking their rpg games so seriously. Physics dictates that these aformentioned crossbreeds are impossible. While Dragons, griffins, gargoyles, and fae do indeed exist they cannot mate with humans. It's physically impossible. Just think about it for a moment. The existance of changlings is questionable as well. While I suppose that their existance is possible, it's highly improbable. Elves do exist and do mate with humans, but I doubt that there are any pureblooded elves living on this planet. And they are nothing like the fantasy version. Demons do exists and angels most likely as well. As for they breeding with humans while the possiblity exists I don't know how true it is.

Question: Help, I'm being hunted, what should I do??
First and foremost, go to the police. Murder is illegal any way you dice it. As with going to the doctor, there is no need to mention you are a Vampyre. Tell them simply that you are being stalked, threatened, harassed, whatever may apply, tell them that the person is nuts and has watched too many buffy episodes, and give as many details as possible. Next look into some self defense classes, karate, gun safety classes, etc. Stick to public places, take a cell phone, let ppl know where you are going ang when you intend to be back; play it safe. Stalkers are psychos that should not be taken lightly.

Question: I am a 17 year old Vampyre that has been awakened for 2 years. Recently I have been experiencing a great deal of aggression and a need to be violent that I am having a difficult time controlling. It is not connected with the thirst as I have a donor and feed regularly. What could be the source of this?
It is common for Vampyres experiencing the awakening to go through a period where they feel very aggressive, violent and short tempered. This is a time full of turmoil as the supressed Vampyre side surfaces and dormant abilities begin to surface. Because of this you will experience all sorts of new feelings, aggression and violence being one of them.

Question: Why is feeding upon children forbidden?
Well besides the fact that the thought of feeding upon a child is not appetizing at all; we like to feed from something that will give us a challenge, (the thrill of the hunt so to speak). A child is so easily overpowered, where is the thrill or challenge in that? A child is innocent, and the future of tomorrow.

Question: Why do male Vampyres sumbit to the will of female Vampyres?
Male Vampyres submit to the will of female Vampyres because, with out them there would be no future generations of Vampyres. Sure you can turn others, but those Vampyres are weaker. Vampyre couples produce offspring that is even more powerful then the mother and the father.

Question: I always thought that Vampyres are arrogant, self-centered and don’t give a fuck about the ones around them. And now I see that you are trying to help other Vampyres, how come?
It is not as if we have no sense of loyality to our own kind, we are in fact quite loyal to our own. But it comes down to power, and as with the jungle, the strong and cunning survive. Because of this outsiders view us as not giving a damn. The fact of the matter is we do not help along the weak, sick or stupid. We exterminate it. This makes us appear cold and uncaring, but this is just how things work for us. Our community has become more fragmented and very separated. And with changing times, many parents who are Vampyres aren't awakening. This leaves many Vampyres out there with no one to turn to, no one to ask questions of and no one to guide and teach them about their ancestry. This is why we have built the site and why we wish to share our knowledge with others.

Question: I have massive headaches, possibly due to light. I have been to the doctor about my headaches and the doctor has told me that it is nothing and prescribed a pain killer. Do you think I may be a latent Vampyre?
It's hard to say what causes your headaches, it could be something as simple as stress. It may be nothing more than a migrane. Migranes are know to make people sensative to sound and light. People get head aches with unknown cases all the time. I wouldn't worry about it, or hurry to chalk it up to something supernatural. It's hardly an indicator of whether or not you may or may not be a latent Vampyre.

Question: Does the vampire Lestat exist? If so how may I go about contacting him?
To my knowledge, Lestat exists only as a character in an Ann Rice novel. Her novels are fiction, nothing more.

Question: Can some one who is Catholic be a Vampyre?
Religion has nothing to do with Vampyrism. They are two seperate things really. However,being a Wiccan does directly conflict with being a Vampyre, the only case I am aware of where religion cannot be meshed with Vampyrism. Generally speaking, in my experience most Vampyres have formed their own beliefs and choose not to follow a form of organized religion.

Question: I find it much more difficult to control myself when enraged and was wondering if you or any others have this problem and if so how can it be dealt with?
Control will come with time and practice, but the best thing to do (and what most Vamps try to do) is remain calm, thus avoiding the conflict with "the beast". This can be done by using meditation, practicing various forms of martial arts; you will just have to find one method that works best for you. But even for the most experienced can be difficult in times of extreme emotion, especially so with rage.

Question: Do vampyres have a main symbol they use to identify each other?
No, there is no symbol that we use to identify each other.

Question: When vampyres take blood tests, does their blood show up as being different than that of human blood?
Not that I'm aware of, and I've had my blood tested for various reasons many times.
