How to find Donors

Approaching a donor and even finding a donor can be a very formitable task for newly awakened Vampyres. As a newbie to this process to it is helpful to have a mentor or Sire to help you through this process, but we also realize that this is not plausable option for many newly awakened and even turned Vampyres. It would be in your favor to find an experienced donor who can help you through this process. This is not to say however, that you should rely on the donor to teach you everything. You should make every effort to learn all that you can, but having an experienced donor can help ease the tension and guide you if you forget to do something. If you are having troubles finding donors you should try clubs, RPG groups, nightclubs, dance clubs, BDS&M clubs, and other places where occult-minded people gather. You might even want to consider taking some classes (if you're not currently enrolled) on things like folklore, mythology, etc. You can also use the Internet to search for donors in your area. Try message boards, email lists, classified ads and chat rooms that cater to the aforementioned groups. The “Goths” that usually gather at these places are generally fascinated with the macabre, and therefore are not difficult to approach on the topic. Nearly every city has a BDS&M underground, locate it; as they have blood letting practices in such sexual environments and the consumption of this blood will be easily accepted. If you can, pair up with another newbie Vampyre and look for donors together, this can help ease the nervousness of entering strange and new places (like BDS&M and night clubs).

The safest way, of course, is to convince a close and trust worthy acquaintance to allow your feeding. If they are not a goth or into Vampyres, you will have to introduce the idea to them. Slowly test their reactions to such thoughts. Obviously if they resist even the thought of the actual existance of real Vampyres, they are not worth considering for donorship. I would recommend developing a trust between you and the possible donor before even bringing up the subject. Keep in mind when choosing possible donors that you are placing your life in their hands by revealing what you are to them. However you might choose to pass off your blood drinking as a fetish as a way around revealing what you are, but still no less of a reason to be cautious. Obviously you can't walk up and say, "Hey, would you let me have your blood?" You must carefully build a relationship up with a prospective donor, sounding out their beliefs until you feel comfortable in entrusting them with the truth of what you are. If you cannot feel comfortable in telling them what you are, you should not use them as a regular donor. You must select donors who are emotionally strong and mentally stable. Tread carefully and things will turn out fine, so long as you trust your instincts. Best of luck and happy hunting. An important rule concerning donors

Avoid drinking 3 times from the same donor at all costs, as it will cause a strong emotional bond to form between the donor and Vampyre. Drink at most only twice from said donor and move on. Why is this so important you ask? Well the bond that forms is a very strong one, and very difficult to break. Its not a mutual thing either. The Vampyre will not feel attached to the donor, but the donor will feel extremely attached to the Vampyre. This can cause all sorts of problems, like jealousy, obsession, the donor falls in love with the Vampyre, etc. It can even go so far that the donor will stalk the Vampyre (how ironic!). This why it is very important to have multiple donors. Granted this may be a difficult task, but its an important one for understandable reasons. So save yourself a lot of hassle and observe this rule.
