A brief history of Reapers of Blood
This site was originally launched in July 2000 by Razor the Tormented and Gabriel the Fallen. It became quite well established during the first years of its existence and has since
been defined by its focus on real Vampyres only (unlike many other "Vampyre" sites out there) and by providing a lot of useful information that couldn't be found elsewhere. In
February 2002, professional message boards were introduced, hosted by EzBoard (now Yuku). Both the site and message boards were quickly growing in popularity, achieving hundrets
of visits every day as of 2003. In 2004, Gabriel leaves RoB for good and Razor continues to run the site and boards by herself, until she ultimately leavs in 2007 because of various
other things that required her full attention. She did a lot of work between 2004-2007 and added many new articles so one could almost say Reapers of Blood has become one of the
greatest online collections of Vampyrism related articles ever written.
I joined the boards in 2004 and became an administrator later that year. As a Vampyre myself, I'd never wanted to live in the spotlight, or be a part of any online community, because
yeah, I've been kind of disgusted by the stupidity some online communities were often plagued with. And although this site had many supporters, there were also a lot of haters, who just couldn't do anything better but cause troubles and present their own immaturity and close-mindedness. Despite all this, I saw the management team here was firmly dedicated to their
cause - to educate the uneducated and to help all those Vampyres out there, who were desperately trying to find more about their true nature.
Much time has passed and this place has since became my home. Since Razor left, I have been keeping the message boards alive, along with fellow admin and mods. However, the original
domain the site was located on (reapersofblood.org) expired in December 2008 (quite obviously with the owner not around to renew it). I believe some things are just too good to be let
go into oblivion so I tried to get the domain back, but with no avail, so I ultimately started a new one. I definitely wanted to stick to the original name, hence we are still Reapers
of Blood, just the address had to be slightly different with "net" instead of "org" ;) Otherwise its for the most part the same site Razor has so much laboured to build, which is why
the main title says REVIVAL. I have changed the design quite significantly and also did some coding changes, but most of the articles remain as originally written by Razor and I'm
giving her the credit.
